The Company of Communicators is delighted to announce that we have been granted an exclusive tour of the College of Arms on 24 March. The building is usually closed to the public but we will have behind the scenes access.
Indeed, our own branding is linked to the traditional role of a Herald, the original 'communicator'.
On 10 March 1439 William Bruges, Garter King of Arms, granted arms to the Worshipful Company of Drapers. Since then grants have been made to livery companies. Our visit gives an excellent opportunity for our members to discuss a future grant of Arms as we become a Worshipful Company and find out more about an the modern day work of the College as well as history.
The College maintains registers of arms, pedigrees, genealogies, Royal Licences, changes of name, and flags. The heralds, besides having ceremonial duties, advise on all matters relating to the peerage and baronetage, precedence, honours and ceremonial as well as national and community symbols including flags.
